Located in West Cobb County, the city of Powder Springs was incorporated as Springville in 1838, ten years after gold had been discovered in Georgia. Though the first area settlers came to find gold, the mild climate, rich soil and inviting springs have always attracted people to Powder Springs real estate. Built on an old right of way, the Silver Comet accommodates cyclists, skaters, walkers, hikers, joggers, wheelchairs and even horses.
