Located 25 miles north of Atlanta, Cherokee county homes are within the Atlanta metro area but with access to plenty of recreation. Lake Allatoona is in Cherokee County. A popular summer playground for all of Georgia, residents enjoy beaches, cliff diving, fishing and boating. The pristine lake is fed by the Etowah and Little Rivers and provides much of the drinking water for Cherokee, Cobb and Bartow Counties. A dam here also provides clean hydro electric power in the region.
