Buckhead is a community within the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Comprising over 100,000 residents and approximately one-fifth of the city. The area is defined as that portion of the city of Atlanta northwest of I-85 and northeast of I-75.
There are two main sections of Buckhead: Buckhead Village to the south and the financial/retail district to the north. Buckhead Village is home to several high-rise residential buildings as well as the majority of Buckhead's nightlife The financial/retail district contains many high-rise office and condo towers and dense retail developments, including Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza regional malls
The Central core of high-rise office and residential condo buildings, mainly along the Peachtree corridor is surrounded by heavily-wooded single-family neighborhoods.
There are some moderately-priced homes in the area, but the price of most homes and condos starts at around $500,000 and extends well beyond $10,000,000

PEDS, Pedestrians Educating Drivers on Safety, is a grass-roots group dedicated to making Atlanta's streets and sidewalks safer and more accessible. A recent Buckhead demonstration drew attention to the new Galyan's store across from Phipps Plaza that offered no entrances from the sidewalk, forcing walkers to go though the parking garage to gain entry. The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign is working to establish a bike lane network linking neighborhoods and major activity centers in Buckhead. http://atlantabike.org
Marta for Buckhead: Buckhead is served by the Northeast rail line with two stations, N6 (Lindbergh) and NE7 (Lenox) connecting to 15 bus routes, and the North rail line with the N7 (Buckhead) station on Peachtree.
